Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya Urges Unity as Ramadan and Lent Begin

The Asiwaju of Ibeshe Kingdom, Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya, has extended warm greetings to Muslims and Christians as they commence the sacred seasons of Ramadan and Lent, describing the period as a powerful moment of spiritual reflection and renewal.

In his message titled “Ramadan and Lent Message of Unity,” Asiwaju expressed gratitude to Almighty God for the grace to witness the holy seasons. He congratulated Muslim faithful on the commencement of Ramadan and equally sent heartfelt wishes to Christians observing Lent, noting that both periods are significant to the spiritual life of the people of Ikorodu Division and beyond.

He emphasized that although Ramadan and Lent are observed differently, they share common values of prayer, fasting, sacrifice, repentance, self-discipline, and charity. According to him, the seasons offer an opportunity for believers to draw closer to God, renew their commitment to righteousness, and extend compassion and kindness to the less privileged.
“As Muslims engage in fasting and increased devotion, and Christians commit to prayer and reflection, let us remember Ikorodu Division in our supplications. Let us pray for peace, progress, purposeful leadership, and divine guidance as we look ahead to the future of Lagos State,” he said.

Asiwaju further prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the fasting and prayers of Muslims and that God would grant Christians the grace to complete the Lenten season in spiritual fulfilment. He added that he trusts the sacred period will bring healing, unity, and abundant blessings to every home.
